Valerie L. Tatum is first lady of City of Fire Ministries and has been married to Pastor Tyron D. Tatum for 22 years. She is a devoted woman in the ministry and walks in her calling of intercessory prayer. She is dedicated to the vision of City of Fire and demonstrates much passion for the intellectual well being of all children. As a result, she has established a successful charter school in Southwest Little Rock with approximately 180 students. Covenant Keepers College Preparatory Charter School has been designed for middle/high school students. The school prepares students for high school advancement upon entering college. She also envisions starting two other charter schools in North Little Rock, and Memphis, Tennessee. The projected grades levels will enhance student learning (K-12) at both locations.

Valerie Tatum has been an educator for the Little Rock School District for approximately 15 years. She attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to earn her degree in Elementary Education. She has a master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Dr. Tatum recently earned her doctorate in Education Administration and Supervision at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

However, Dr. Tatum’s greatest joy and fulfillment is laboring to encourage women to walk in their divine calling as a Proverbs 31 woman, and meeting monthly with women through our women’s ministry “Lady in Waiting.” This ministry has established a bond and unit that cannot be broken.
